So, it turns out that The North Face is almost as eco-friendly as Patagonia, but they just don’t talk about it as much – at least, according to a new feature from Glossy.

Some good news, for once. According to a recent Vogue Business article, there is “a growing effort” in the fashion industry “to phase out overlooked plastic parts that have long supported a garment’s functionality or offered finishing touches, like hangers, buttons and sequins.” 

As brands big and small, legacy and start-up, and cheap and expensive use eco-friendliness to sell clothing, The New York Times is wondering if all these sustainability efforts are actually kinda making things worse.

Business Insider recently detailed a report by Piper Jaffray that “analyzed responses from 9,500 shoppers across 42 states with an average age of 15.8 years old” regarding shopping habits and found that “there are 16 brands across both male and female shoppers that are quickly falling out of favor.”

According to a recent article by Fast Company, an industry trade group called the American Apparel & Footwear Association, which represents “1,000 brands, including Gap, Adidas, and Target,” has recommended that five of Amazon’s international sites “be added to the U.S. government’s… list of Notorious Markets.”

According to a recent feature from Refinery29, Generation Z – the age group born after 1996 – loves the earth, but also, really, really loves fast fashion, too. And yes, those two things could not be more incongruous.
