In the product description for these new Lambswool Sweaters from the Amsterdam-based direct-to-consumer basics brand, Unrecorded., it says that the extra-fine Australian Merino wool they’re made out of is, “non-mulesed.” So, I looked up what that is, and holy shit, you guys, FUCK mulesing. And I quote, “Skin is sliced from the buttocks of lambs without anesthetic to produce a scar,” and the scar makes it so wool won’t grow there, which keeps the area clean, but also mutilated. Ugh, people are the goddamn worst, seriously. Thankfully, no sweet, innocent lamb butts were heartlessly butchered in the making of these €95 sweaters.
