There’s a lot to like about the Sport Camp Sneakers from the newly launched footwear label, Standard Fair. Handcrafted in Maine, they have a subtly retro, athletic-style upper on top of a rubber camp sole (which, in theory, sounds like it could be pretty awful, but in practice, is actually very cool). The materials are as good as it gets: Italian veg-tanned leather uppers, Horween leather lining, and American-made foam insoles and leather laces. And, they’re resoleable, so you can wear ’em for many, many years to come. If all that sounds as good to you as it does to me, head over to the Standard Fair Kickstarter page now, and help bring these puppies to life (btw, there are still a few early bird slots left, so you can snag a pair for $100 off the retail price).
