N’East Illustrated, Vol. 34

WSJKirkland
I haven’t illustrated street style in a long time. When I saw this season’s batch of Tommy Ton photos from the men’s shows, I had the itch to illustrate a few. And of course I had to draw my friend Jeremy Kirkland. I haven’t seen Jeremy in years, but I remember his natural ease and his eye for timeless style. Ton’s photo definitely conveys that.

I have no idea who this gentleman is, but I love that Ton captured him twice in the same stride. It’s clear that he knows what works for him – a range of navy and a polka dot pocket square. Classic.

WSMan1924
Two of my favorite people to draw are Carlos Castillo and Jorge Navares of Man 1924. It might sound corny, but they always appear completely comfortable in their skin and as though they’re having a splendid time. That’s what makes them such a joy to draw – that and their incredible style of course.

WSAdidas
I love how the crop of Ton’s photo highlighted this trio’s uniform of khakis and Adidas, yet you notice their individual variations. I’m not sure where those khakis with the geometric shapes are from, but they are brilliant.
