N’East Illustrated, Vol. 16

In honor of the amazing care package I received this week from the folks at Teva, I had to do a sketch of one of the photos Mikael Kennedy took of the re-introduced Originals. I lived in Tevas as a kid, and I plan on living in them again this summer.

Other people might be getting tired of camo, but I’m not. At least, not when it’s done as well as these Mountain Shorts from Topo Designs. Made in the good ol’ US of A and perfect for lounging by the pool or climbing up a rocky cliff. They also come in olive and tan for you non-camo folks.

Ben Nobel of Kletterwerks and I touched base last week to talk about my testing out some of their bags. I’ve had a couple in my possession for about 4 days now and am already in love with the quality, functionality, and aesthetic. This is a pic I took of my fiancé rocking the Rock Pack during a day out and about along the coast of Maine. I see a lot of camping trips, beach days, and hikes in the bag’s future.

I’m totally digging these shorts/swim trunks from Owner Operator. Love the color-blocking and the inseam length. And, like Brad, I immediately thought of Patagonia baggies in the ’80s when I saw them. And that’s a very good thing.

Love this photo by Alex Maier (aka Super Danger) of a very cool looking girl. She’s got great style and the composition of the original photo is beautiful.
