Haitian Factory with Clinton Ties Accused of Worker Abuse

A Korean-owned factory in Haiti, that Bill and Hilary Clinton personally helped to get off the ground during the post-2010 earthquake reconstruction, has recently come under fire over worker abuse.

According to ABC News, Korean apparel manufacturer SAE-A was chosen to be the anchor tenant of a $400 million industrial park that both Hilary Clinton’s state department and Bill Clinton’s Clinton Foundation played a major role in developing, despite the company’s track record of worker’s rights violations.

Though SAE-A executives have dismissed both past and current abuse claims as “minor misunderstandings,” new reports from advocacy groups have found the underperforming factory to be noncompliant in the areas of sexual harassment, bullying, and humiliation of employees.

What’s more, after opening the factory, SAE-A became a major Clinton Foundation donor, and heavily invested in a start-up owned by Hillary Clinton’s former chief of staff, Cheryl Mills, causing many to question the Korean firm’s relationship with the Clintons.
