One day, when my son is old enough, I will regale him with tales of a simpler time. My metabolism was still solid. Hangovers didn’t last three days. The President of the United States wasn’t an incompetent, racist buffoon hurdling us towards the apocalypse. And then, of course, there were the clothes. We were all dressing like our grandpas, buying once and buying well, and timeless as all get out. I’m talking, of course, about the era of #menswear.

I don’t expect him to fully understand what that time meant. Sure, it provided me with sharper sport coat options and more whimsical OCBD colors than there are days in a month. But, more than that, it gave me a sense of belonging, friends I will have forever, and fame beyond my wildest dream. OK, the last one isn’t true but the other two are.

The colder it gets, the easier it is to fall back into the #menswear uniform, even today, when there are so many other styles to choose from. A heavy, olive-hued parka AND plaid quilted shacket sitting atop a, you guessed it, non-standard-colored OCBD. Of course, the cornerstone of any #menswear uniform is raw denim (sick fadez, bruh). And lastly, who can forget the expensive boots you said you would have forever and pass down to your children, but you ended up selling to support your Yeezy fund. Ahhh, simpler times, indeed.
