As a kid, everyone always said “man, it must really suck to have your birthday so close to Christmas.” You know what I say to that? Fuck you. It was great. My parents did it right and made sure I didn’t get the short end of the stick. However, everyone else – especially as I get older – always forgets. I mean, I get it, people are caught up in Christmas prep. But damnit, I’m sick of my coworkers forgetting to get me a birthday card every single year. So, this year, I’m making sure people notice me.

Today, for my birthday, I’m going bold. Excessive, you might say. I’m not one to usually wear yellow because of my skin tone, but I feel like the sashiko fabric that the Dr. Collectors Wyoming jacket is made from has enough detail to offset that a bit. Underneath that? It’s all about the details, baby. An ill wool patchwork knit for some subtle pizzazz. Black denim because I’m not an animal, but my shoes are made out of one. Oh, I guess I was supposed to talk about my son too, right? Well, he’ll get cool Christmas presents, but today is my day.
