I have a love/hate relationship with April. On one hand, it’s my son’s and my mom’s birthday month. On the other hand, it’s extremely rainy and has been especially blustery and cold this year. So while I can’t completely hate the month, I can take issue with the constant adding and shedding of layers throughout the day. Luckily, fatherhood forces you to be prepared for anything.

You can never have too many statement outerwear pieces, even in the spring when it will inevitably get showered on. Between that and a trusty umbrella, you’re set. A pair of medium-weight trousers with a bit of flair is the equivalent of a pants party. And lastly, on to which you’ve all been waiting for: the shoes. I know, they’re New Balances. Am I still unhappy with them as a company? Yes. Am I going to continue to punish you all by neglecting to tout quality, British-made sneakers? I feel like I would be remiss. HOWEVER, they are still getting worn in the rain, might even pee on them a bit, who knows? Can’t climb out the dog house scot-free!
