Chinese Maker of Adidas and Armani to Open Factory in Arkansas

A Chinese apparel manufacturer that produces goods for Adidas, Reebok and Armani is set to open a new factory in Arkansas.

Owned by the Suzhou Tianyuen Garment Company, which makes about 10 million articles of clothing annually, including 90% of Adidas’ garments, the new facility will create 400 new jobs that pay an average of $14 per hour.

According to Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson, the recently inked deal between the state and Tianyuen calls for the manufacturer to invest $20 million dollars in their new location, which will most likely be in Little Rock. The memorandum of understanding also calls for Arkansas to provide a $1 million infrastructure assistance grant, $500,000 for training and an estimated $1.6 million in rebates based on the company’s annual payroll.
