While I am very much pleased by the aesthetic of the brand-spanking-new Self-Belted Easy Pants from the brand-spanking-new brand, 18 East, I am incredibly disappointed by them as well. Yes, they are relaxed fit and are responsibly-made in India from an incredible wide wale corduroy, and have a built-in belt with a cool hand-embroidered emblem: all great things. However, how can you call these “self-belted” when these bitches don’t belt themselves? I have to tie that shit MYSELF? False advertising, if you ask me. I suppose I will give these $145 trousers a chance, but if I feel belabored by tying, they’re going to hear from my lawyer.
