If, for some strange reason, you’re not already familiar with N’East Style, do yourself the favor of getting acquainted toot sweet. Written by the ever-delightful Christine Mitchell, the site is a compendium of all things New England, as well as a platform for Mitchell’s fantastic (I’m talking tattoo-worthy) original artwork. Being a huge fan of both Mitchell’s talent and taste, I’ve asked her to begin sketching some of her favorite images from the menswear blogosphere for Well Spent. If we’re lucky, this’ll become a regular feature on the site – my fingers are very firmly crossed. The first batch of images is below. And holy smokes are they great.
Ryan Plett took some great shots of product (and people) at the recent Capsule tradeshow in NYC. This sketch is from a photo he took of Schott’s striped blanket jacket.
I loved the Seven Questions feature with Owner Operator on Well Spent. Being a lady from the mountains of Vermont, I appreciate the quality and technical functionality of their goods and that all of it is in made in the USA.
As a sucker for waxed cotton I immediately fell in love with this Hill Climber Jacket in green from Taylor Supply. Flannel lined to boot!
I’m a huge fan of the products The Hill-Side turns out, especially their blanket ties and scarves from the F/W 2011 collection. Hope everyone made it out of 2011 with a piece or two!
This is a sketch of a still from Jake Davis’s Test Shot of his lovely friend Eunice Lee of Unis. It’s one of my top three favorites of his Test Shots. It’s so peaceful with the falling snow, and Eunice is effortlessly stunning.
To see more of Mitchell’s work, check out her portfolio site. You can also email her direct if you’re interested in having her draw something for you (very wise move).
