    About

Well Spent features responsibly made products that look good and don’t cost an arm and a leg.

What does responsibly made mean? It means no sweatshops, a low environmental impact, and nothing disposable. We cover items that are designed and built with thoughtfulness and intention.

All of the information that appears on this site has been gathered with cooperation from the brands featured. We can only vouch for the information’s veracity insofar as it is what we have been told.

    Pitches

We’re always on the lookout for new products to feature. That said, we have very strict criteria regarding what makes it on the site. Firstly, every item has to be made in a responsible manner – that means no sweatshops, a low environmental impact, and nothing disposable. Secondly, items must be aesthetically pleasing. And thirdly, items must be reasonably priced for what they are.

If your product(s) meets that criteria, then send your pitch to pitches@well-spent.com. Please note that due to the high volume of emails we receive, not every pitch will be responded to. Also, if you’re emailing us about a slim wallet you’re funding on Kickstarter, your email will be ignored. The world does not need another Kickstarter-funded slim wallet.

All pitches made via Well Spent’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram will be ignored.

    Advertising

We apply the same criteria to our advertisers that we do to the products we feature. If your brand or product meets that criteria, and you’re interested in learning more about advertising on Well Spent, send an email to brad@well-spent.com.

Please note that we do not post sponsored content. The only type of advertising we offer are banner ads.

Here Lies the Remains of Well Spent

April, 2011 – December, 2019

As far as damn good looking boots go, these are definitely some of the damn-er good-er looking ones I’ve seen (not my strongest, but moving right along). The Pebble Leather Chukkas from New York’s Steven Alan are handcrafted in Wisconsin by the venerable – and employee-owned – Thorogood. Handsome enough for the indoors, yet hardy…

What’s on sale RIGHT NOW. For those that haven’t checked out it yet, Rhode Island’s WHARF is in the middle of a major Summer Sale. US-made goods from BILLYKIRK, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Engineered Garments, Steven Alan and more are now a cool 30% off. Multiple items / sizes remain from each brand, but quantities are…

The Friday Find: WHARF Summer Sale

Another fine addition to the list of “grown-up” cargo shorts, the Six Pocket Shorts from New York’s Steven Alan are made in the USA from 100% cotton twill. Fashioned after mountain climbing shorts from the 1970s, the SPSs have a slim (though not too slim) leg and a mid-thigh-hitting 6.5″ inseam. Details include a zip…
