A Woman Found a Dead Mouse Sewn into Her Zara Dress

A New York City woman is suing Zara after allegedly finding a dead rodent sewn into a dress she purchased from the company’s Greenwich, CT store.

According to court documents filed in New York’s Supreme Court on Friday, the woman noticed a disturbing, pungent odor coming from the Turkish-made, $40 dress, and discovered a dead mouse sewn into the hem.

The woman is accusing the Spanish retailer of negligence for “breaching its duty to exercise reasonable care in designing, manufacturing, inspecting, distributing, delivering, and supplying” goods, and is seeking unspecified damages for “emotional distress and personal injury” – she developed a rash which was diagnosed as a rodent-bourn disease.

Thus far, Zara has only issued a brief statement saying they are “aware of the suit, and investigating the matter further.” According to The Fashion Law, the case will likely settle out of court.
