In order to better understand the origins of these Golden Bear Salesian Varsity Jackets, I did a quick Google search for “salesian,” which led me to “The Gentleman Saint,” St. Francis de Sales, who not only seems like a pretty chill guy, but also like he’d appreciate this high quality, US-made, lightweight poly-cotton topper. Then again, I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t like a Golden Bear Varsity that’s on sale for $185, but I’m no saint, so what do I know?
