OG-107 Vietnam Jungle Jackets

Looking for a spring jacket? Surplus e-tailer Army Navy Uniforms has a nice selection of new-old-stock, Vietnam era Jungle Jackets, all of which were made in the US from wind-resistant, 100% cotton ripstop poplin, and are in pristine, unissued condition. A surprisingly large number of sizes are available, at least, for now… Read More »

Deadstock O’Malley Sunglasses

In other crazy-low priced eBay find news: seller All American Deadstock is offering a nice selection of NOS “Classic O’Malley” Sunglasses. Though originally made somewhere between the 1980s and 90s (can you believe that 1990 was 21 years ago? Isn’t that insane!), the classically-styled glasses are still in pristine, unworn shape. Despite their age and condition, the seller is only asking for a piddly $12 per (and the shipping is free), making them way cheaper than any crap you’d pick up at Urban Outfitters (and probably far better made too). Autour De Ton Cou Ties

Laurent Laporte, author of the always enjoyable Where is the Cool (which totally had that name first, btw) recently got in touch to let me know that he had come into possession of a large surplus of deadstock Pierre Balmain ties from the 1960s, and that he’s now selling them under the moniker Autour De Ton Cou (translated: around your neck). The ties, all of which were knit in France, come in a wide selection of colors, measure roughly two inches at their widest point and are in absolute stunning condition. Read More »

American Optical Safety Glasses

Just in time for summer, Los Angeles’ Driftwood has added a selection of deadstock, US-made American Optical Safety Glasses to its online store. Multiple sizes of both the classic gray and green lens models are available, and each is priced at $72 (plus free shipping), so basically cheaper than if you found ‘em used on eBay. Stock, of course, is extremely limited, and likely to sell out quick, so head over to Driftwood now while the getting’s still good. Read More »

Inventory Deadstock Swedish Army Belt

Admittedly not the most eloquent way to open a blog post, but, I really like these. A lot. Vancouver’s Inventory has just added a small collection of deadstock Swedish Army Belts to its online store. Great looking, and built though as a brick sh–house, the belts are made from naturally tanned leather, and feature brass hardware and an embossed insignia and size info. Once the standard issue for the Swedish Army, these belts are now extremely hard to come by (in and out of Scandinavia, apparently), but, despite their rarity, are priced at a very reasonable $65 per (so basically a dollar per each year of wear). eBay Friday: USMC Roughout Boondocker Boots

After stumbling across the above, I thought it would be fun to do a round-up of (near-)deadstock military boots for this week’s eBay of the Day. But, of course, once I had the idea, I wasn’t able to find a single other post-worthy pair (ain’t that always the way). So, it’s just going to have to be these then, because I’d much rather post them on their own, than not post them at all. Authentic marine core surplus (not repro). Decades old. Unworn condition. Size 10. Auction ends 11/7. Bid here. And have a great weekend.

eBay Friday: Vintage Sweater Round-Up

Vintage Orvis Dog Sweater. 100% wool. Made in Hong Kong. Auction ends 10/11/10. Bid here.

BreadandRoses2 Soft Accessories

There’s a lot to love about Ohio’s BreadandRoses2. The brainchild of textile artist / designer Diane Wilson, the company proffers scarves, pocket squares, and bandannas made from deadstock selvedge fabrics. Decades old, and almost all loomed in the US, the fabrics – including chambrays, hickory stripes and tartans – are culled from the artist’s own personal collection, which she has spent the better part of the last forty years amassing from thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and various now defunct uniform and textile manufacturers. eBay Friday: NOS Letterman Jackets

Well this is a nice how do you do. eBay Seller vintageworkwearguy has just listed a slew of never worn, U.S. made, logo-free, wool body / leather sleeve Letterman jackets. Every jacket is listed Buy It Now, and prices range from $170 – $250, which, while a lot, is still considerably less than the comparable Band of Outsiders / Michael Bastian / pick-your-favorite-Japanese-brand equivalent. More styles after the jump. Auctions can be found here. Have a great weekend. Read More »
