Archival Clothing Henleys

By Michael Nolledo

I know your blogroll is filled with wild Guatemalan textile shirts, kabuki print something-or-others, 60s-inspired camo slacks – and whatever else dudes were wearing outside the fashion shows last week. So, you might not be interested in a plain henley. But Archival Clothing makes it easy to appreciate the basics. Read More »

Post Riposte: Vests

Reader Jim recently wrote:

I think a vest roundup might be kind of a cool feature if you ever get a chance to do that, since I’ve had some trouble finding affordable, American-made vests.

Good idea Jim. That would be a cool feature…

Archival Clothing Zip and Open Top Totes

I haven’t been keeping count, so I’m not exactly sure how many other products Archival Clothing has released prior to these new Zip and Open Top Totes. What I do know, however, is that they’ve all been great. Which, at this point, basically makes them the Daniel Day Lewis of brands; consistently excellent, no matter what the undertaking. Being There: NorthernGRADE Chicago

Photos by Nathan Michael

Thinking back on this past Saturday’s NorthernGRADE Chicago pop-up, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. Gratitude to the vendors for participating in it. Gratitude to the bloggers and publications that helped promote it. And, above all, gratitude to every person that came to be a part of it. I’ve always liked NorthernGRADE more than the other menswear events because of how laid back it is. It’s an easy place to strike up a conversation with a stranger, and actually enjoy it. And I think that carried through in Chicago. It seemed like everyone was having a pretty good time. I know I was. A few of the many people and products that made the day what it was are after the jump. Hat tip to Nathan Michael for the photos.

Introducing: NorthernGRADE Chicago

For as long as there’s been a NorthernGRADE, I’ve been a fan of it. Launched back in 2010 by Pierrepont Hicks and J.W. Hulme, the Minnesota-based event has grown from an intimate gathering of American-made-o-philes to a full-on menswear mecca. And now, it’s coming to Chicago. I’ve had the great privilege and pleasure of working directly with PPH to co-produce the Chicago premiere of the pop-up, and if I do say so myself, it’s shaping up to be quite an event.

Archival Clothing Trail Caps

By Nick Grant

You might look at this Archival Clothing Trail Cap and think, “what’s so special about that?” Well, nothing, as long as you don’t consider a made in USA, lightweight waxed cotton hat that’s so durable you can pass it down to your future children “special.” But, you’re smarter than that, right? The Launch: Archival Clothing Roll Top

As regular readers of this site already know, I’m a huge fan of the Portland, OR based blog-turned-brand Archival Clothing. So, when they asked me if I would premiere their newest offering here on Well Spent, my answer was a very honored and enthusiastic yes. Wanting the introduction to be a good one, I’ve asked AC co-founder and lead designer Tom Bonamici to answer some questions about the release, which, all fanboy-worship aside, is looking to be one of the co.’s best yet. And now, without further ado, it’s my great pleasure to introduce you to the brand new Archival Clothing Roll Top.
