Engineered Garments Lafayette Shirt

There’s no way around it: Engineered Garments is simply unfuckwitable. Take their new Lafayette Shirt. It’s a US-made, flat hemmed, polka-dot-printed, soft-as-a-baby’s-butt flannel, with a shawl collar and rear pocket. Why a rear pocket? Who the hell cares, it’s EG. They can do whatever they want. Use this as a shacket, or a mid-layer, or on its own (the more ways you wear it the better – might as well get your $250’s worth).

Don’t care for the polka dot patten – looks sloppy, almost like a pair of pajamas. I think the saito shirts at betabrand do polka dots better.

Bought the black plaid flannel in this cut and it is indeed unfuckwitable. great fit, though on the plaid, I had to size down from my usual L to an M (Pit-to-pit on my shirt is a tad over 22.5″) as FW13 seems to run on the big side. Still works to wear “stand alone” or layering as a shirt jacket over another shirt, tee or henley.

Ya see, Mike; that’s precisely why I fucks wit EG. Daiki basically asks, “hmmmm, how do I want my shit to fit this season?” and BOOM he makes a whole collection based on whether he’s feeling baggy or slim or short or long. Such a great concept if you think Daiki is some type of style deity like myself.
