Epaulet Washed Canvas Smith Jeans

Casual fridays just got a whole lot more casual. Epaulet has taken their Rivet Chino and retrofitted it with a classic 5-pocket design. Is it a chino? Is it a jean? Whatever you want to call it, I like it. Constructed in the USA from stoned-washed 8 oz. cotton duck, these guys have a super clean slim-straight silhouette that’ll take you (slim-)straight into the weekend. Extra points too for the hickory-stripe cotton twill pocket bags. TGIF, ya’ll.

Looks nice but I was wondering how comfortable the canvas material was compared to twill. Is it rough or is it smooth? Is it heavy? I need to know before I purchase online.

I had the same hesitations. I like the canvas a lot. It’s rough at first but not as tough as raw denim. It breaks in and becomes really soft in just a few wears. The 10 oz fabric has kept me cool enough in warmer days, but I have yet to wear it in near freezing temperatures, though my instinct is that it will be as warm as twill. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I may take the plunge on this.
