And now, it’s time to once again play everyone’s favorite game: Guess How Much It Costs. This week’s item: the Shawl Collar Cardigans from Charles Tyrwhitt. And here are the details: 90% lambswool / 10% cashmere blend. Cableknit. Hip pockets. Leather buttons. Made in Italy. And the answer is… $110. Not too shabby, huh? Two colors are available.

@ Karl – Nice!
How is the fit? Slim or baggy?
@ Joe – Slim-ish. Much slimmer than L.L.Bean, or something of that ilk. But, it wouldn’t hurt to size down one either.
Can anyone comment on the quality of this?
I’ve been looking for Shawl Cardigans but haven’t nailed down a purchase yet.
This looks good.
This seems like too good of a deal to be true. And you know what they say about that.
I’ve heard rumors of the questionable quality of these products. Can any corroborate those rumors?
@ JStatz, Brian, Rick – I picked up two of their sweaters last year, and was pleasantly surprised. By no means are they the best I’ve ever owned, but worth the price (especially with the 15% off code).
I got a lambswool cardigan from them last year. I’m a 38R and should’ve gone with a small (bought a medium and it’s slightly too big, was too much of a hassle to return it). Decently made for the price. As with all CT stuff, they go on a pretty steep discount post-season, so they’d be a good pickup then for sure.
@ Kiyoshi:
Thanks for the tip I’m a 38R also so I think I should go with a Small.
Regards,
-Rick.
I get CT catalogs all the time (unsolicited, grrr) and am not a fan of their pricing games. “Get a $140 shirt for $39.99!”
Anyone bought this yet?
Comments on fit and quality?
Ordered a different cardigan, the one with wooden toggles. Material feels very nice – not scratchy at all, comfortable enough to wear with a t-shirt, but obviously not as soft as Scottish cashmere. The fit is slim – I have a 42″ chest and the large gives me enough room to wear over a button-down shirt, but a cardi to get lost in this is not. I’ll definitely go back for the shawl collar when they go on sale again.
