There are three things I look for in a belt: good construction, sturdy materials, and enough happening aesthetically to make it unique, without it drawing too much attention to itself. Enter the Linchpin Belt from Wisconsin’s Jepsen LeatherGoods. Handcrafted by the designer out of beefy (no pun intended) 8 oz. vegetable tanned leather, the LpB more than meets the quality requirements. However, it’s the eponymous solid brass closing mechanism that really seals the deal; just enough to make it different, but not overly so. Add to that a not too thick 1.5″ width, and a surprisingly low price, and it looks like I found my next belt.
