Mate, you have a hell of an eye. That’s a great selection. Also – do you own the Gio? How would you compare them to Epaulet Rivets? I’m in the hunt for a good quality, slim, dress up/down number, and these are the two I’m weighing up.

Mighty kind of you to say, thanks.

I own both. The Gios are a bit dressier, while the Rivet Chinos are a bit more casual.

Also, the Gios have way more going on in terms of their construction (the quality is unbelievable).

All that said, Unis just came out with a new “skinny” fit Gio. If I had to recommend anything, it would probably be those.

    Hope that helps,

    bb

Nice find on the shoes. Are they true to size?

I’m under the impression they run a bit wide, but I’d double check with the company to be sure.

I own a pair of capps air-lite “capital” model that I wear to the lab I work in and they are a bit tight, especially in the toe. I usually wear a size 10D in most brands (chippewa, danner, walkover) and I got these in a 10, but I wish I had gotten a larger size or width. Maybe the chukkas or welt construction changes the size as well. Also I would definitely suggest going for the welt model rather than the air-lite model as the sole doesn’t seem too durable on the air-lites.

Thanks for spreading the word on our AMERICAN MADE shoes! Our GOODYEAR WELT Chukkas and oxfords ARE more durable than the AIR-LITES. Air-Lites are meant more for dress uniform inspecitons for military. Our WELT has a sewn on sole and separate heel so they can be replaced, in turn adding to the life of the shoe. The Air-lites soles are cemented on and cannot be replaced. FIT: Our shoes are true to size. As stated above, the WELT does have a bit more toe room, but for the most part fit the same. Please visit our website! We have women’s shoes as well!

Just found your website and this blog…Great stuff! I just bought a Donegal Tweed blazer from Banana Republic and was looking for inspiration how to wear it (besides the obvious…dark jeans). Thanks for the suggestions!

these boots have been in the back of my mind since you posted this. trying to find a new pair of boots was crazy stressful because my feet are gigantic and it was a relief to re-find extremely affordable usa-made boots in my size.
