The McClure Vest from veteran ranchwear brand Schaefer is expertly crafted in New Mexico from 18 oz. American-made merino wool herringbone. Fashioned after waistcoats from the Wild West era (did anyone else immediately think of True Grit when they saw this thing?), the fully-lined vest features a notched collar, brass buttons, six pockets (four on the outside, two on the inside) and an elasticized back for a tailored fit. Two colors are available, and I’d happily take home either. Quick note: unlike modern “Americana” brands, Schaefer has a much more traditional cut, so best to size down.
