I remember when Archival Clothing first announced they were going to be making shawl collar cardigans. Based on their then newly released pitch-perfect bag range, as well as their extensive knowledge of, well, archival clothing, I figured the sweaters would be good. But, I had no idea they were going to be this good. Seriously, we’re talking one the top five product releases of the season here (yeah, that’s right, I said it). The facts: 100% pure new wool, sourced from New England. Made by the venerated Centralia Knitting Mills on circular knitting machines from the 1930s. Deadstock buttons (culled from Centralia’s vast surplus). Slim fit, high shawl collar with a button closure, two hip pockets, a pill-resistant finish, and – amazingly – a well south of $200 price-tag (for the solid colors, that is). Did I say top five? Let’s go ahead and call it top three.
There are four colorways in total (navy, red, gray and multi-weave), and (for now) the shipping is free.
