No matter how gruff, rough or tough, I think every man can stand to have (at least) a little bit of cozy in their lives. And it doesn’t get much cozier than the new Shawl Collar Cardigan from Cincinnati’s Velva Sheen. Cut and sewn in Los Angeles from American slub cotton, the sweater – like all of the offerings from the recently resurrected manufacturer (thank you Japanese investors) – is a great looking and solidly made update of an old classic. Details include a slim fit, two hand warmer pockets, and true-to-the-original old-timey tags / branding (a minor feature, but one that makes me smile nonetheless). An exclusive to Midwestern menswear mecca Context, the sweater comes in two colors (gray and black), and is pretty well priced considering it’s from the same brand that started an internet sh*t-storm a few months back for charging $70 for two t-shirts.
